Knaresborough Health & Wellbeing Centre

This new build health and wellbeing centre was developed by Alliance Leisure through the UK Leisure Framework.

The centre delivers a range of wet and dry facilities for guests to enjoy.

These include:

• Six lane 25m pool
• Leisure pool with flume
• 60 station fitness suite
• Sauna and steam room
• Group fitness studio
• Immersive group cycling centre
• Café

Outside the building there is a children’s play area, car park with electric vehicle charging points and bicycle storage.

From the outset of the project the end client, Harrogate Borough Council, was driven to provide a building which was “as energy efficient as possible within the project budget” this allowed us to explore all available options for the building services solutions, the building, which achieved a BREEAM “Excellent” rating and an EPC “A” rating benefits from:

Air Source Heat Pumps providing heating and cooling throughout the building, LED lighting throughout, intelligent controls systems, roof mounted photovoltaic cells

We worked closely with ISG from RIBA Stage 2 and then with G&H Building Services from RIBA Stage 3 to completion
