Project Description
King George Playing Fields
King George Playing Fields
The project is for the construction of a new multi-use leisure facility on King George Playing Fields in Brentwood, providing a new changing area and social facility within the park.
It is located in close proximity to the existing bowls and crazy golf facilities and briefly comprises of:
- Tag Active Space
- Changing Facilities
- Kitchen, Servery & Bar Areas
- Golf Centre Pro Shop (shell only)
- First Floor Lounge & Multi Use Space
Due to the location of the building and associated planning requirements, the building had to be kept as low as possible meaning limited distribution areas and no external plant or equipment.
Achieving the energy requirements for the building was particularly difficult due to the building use and limited scope renewable energy solutions, the council required the building to be a low energy solution, the innovative solutions for the building include; Air Source Heat Pumps providing preheat to the hot water system, LED lighting, Low SFP Heat Recovery Units with high heat recovery, VRF and Intelligent Controls.
CGP MEP undertook the Stage 2 and 3 design for ISG to ensure the Clients aspirations were achieved whilst working with the MEP Contractor to ensure project costs were aligned to the ISG Contractor Proposals.
The design was completed using Revit MEP and CGP MEP also provided energy advise throughout the project to ensure compliance, with utility supplies limited within the area, low energy use was a particularly important aspect of the design.
